UCWGA Members March and Serve on MLK Day
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, United Campus Workers of Georgia members paid homage to Dr. King's legacy of anti-racism and worker's justice by participating in events in Athens and Atlanta.
In Athens, UCWGA members set up a table to educate campus workers and other march attendees about the union's work to achieve collective bargaining rights and uphold academic freedom-- an echo of Dr. King's advocacy for labor rights and economic justice. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, members of UCWGA took to the streets, participating in a march alongside our allies at North Georgia Labor Council.
UCWGA members take part in these events, because the continuous fight for racial equality and workers' rights are deeply intertwined. By committing to our work on MLK Day, we reflect on the power of organizing and our promise to build our futures on a foundation of justice.
Way to go, UCWGA!
