UCW-GA's Defend Remote Work! Campaign

✊ RSVP for the 11/11 ACTION HERE ✊
Mandatory in-office work is disrupting the lives of those who work for the University System of Georgia. Many were hired as fully or partly remote employees. Many have caregiver responsibilities or health needs that can only be accommodated by the flexibility of remote work. Revoking the ability to work from home effectively increases transportation and parking costs, which amounts to a pay cut for all affected workers.
Research has shown that remote/hybrid work arrangements can increase employee productivity while return-to-office mandates drastically increase turnover and harm recruitment. This policy change will increase the operating costs of institutions and divert millions of dollars of the budget to fund the required office space and parking additions—money that could otherwise be spent on serving students and cost-of-living wage increases for employees.
