According to federal guidelines, an individual that makes less than $15/hr in a full-time position is living below the poverty line. This would make up a majority of UGA’s maintenance and food service staff and this isn't fair. Anyone who works 40 hours a week shouldn’t have to worry if they’re going to be able to pay their rent or utilities every month.
Across the South, men & women like you are asking for what they are due; a paycheck they just don’t have to survive on, but can thrive from.
In 2019, UCWGA is committing to stand for living wages and better futures for everyone who works for UGA. We ask that you stand with us next year. To learn more, join us for out first meeting of the New Year on 1/10/19 at 6pm at the Thomas Lay Park Community Center.
